MarineLab Undersea Laboratory

From 1985 - 2018, the MarineLab Undersea Laboratory was located in a lagoon at the Marine Resources Development Foundation’s campus in Key Largo. Hundreds of aquanauts, ranging from high school students to physicists and medical researchers, visited or even stayed overnight in the Undersea Lab.

From Underwater Research to Museum

The MarineLab Undersea Laboratory was raised from the lagoon and restored to its 1985 condition. Visitors can climb up inside the habitat and experience what it was like for aquanauts staying underwater, without having to get wet! The museum is located at our campus at 51 Shoreland Drive, Key Largo. Due to COVID-19, the museum is temporarily closed to inside visits, but the public is welcome to come learn more about this and other undersea research habitats.
