One of MRDF's goals is to increase our understanding of ocean processes. Our facility and staff provide an unparalleled opportunity to have long-term monitoring provided for researchers who cannot be here all the time. Located in the Upper Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, we have access to both the most densely developed coral reefs and the shallow waters of Florida Bay in Everglades National Park. We have partnered with local, regional and national organizations to provide research assistance. We offer service learning programs that involve MarineLab students in actual research projects, providing a real world STEM experience.
From providing technology support, data gathering, and a location for new types of sculpture to be created using seawater, MRDF is involved with a variety of projects. Check out our current projects and partnerships, or visit our History and Publications & Projects page for past projects.
